I Am Broken

Would you ever pick a wilted flower ?
Would you buy a book with its spine damaged-pages coming apart ?
Would you find beauty in my scars that dance my tan skin like a river meandering on a map ?
Would you look at my tired eyes and my chapped lips and find something to love ?

You only look for the prettiest roses in the field to be picked.
You would only buy a book with its pages still intact.
You would not want to run your fingers across the white lines on my skin.
You would not find something to love in my empty eyes.

I can be just as good but that does not matter.
I can be perfect but thats never good enough.
I can be strong but the mask will always fall.

It is okay to be imperfect.
It is okay to be weak sometimes.
It is okay to be tethered around the edges.

It is okay to be broken but people... they just don't find beauty in broken things.

that's a quick leap in judgement... of what others want- *most people have something going on that doesn't show in the surface - the only people who are unbroken are few if any- some suffer as babies and others later in life (nice writing but I think it jumps the gun to judge the desires of the audience)

Yes it is judgement but it seems to be like everyone starts of the same. Maybe not everyone but everyone that I have encountered. They help you put back your pieces and they say they understand because they themselves are broken but after sometime. They all leave. People my find beauty in broken things but for me. It never lasts.

People are simply human- The fault in all is the ability to hurt the ones we love and be vulnerable to be hurt in return. Love will change in many ways for all. Some people walk off and leave because their love for themselves is probably greater than the love of that one person. It's a probability that to find one person who appreciates you too the deepest concern and wouldn't leave is hard to come by. Most people grow frustrated of the waiting but, if one thing is certain there is a probability of that special person coming into your life. When that moment happens, who knows- but ( I hope it's soon for you 🙂)

Thank you. I am just so used to people throwing me away when they see just hoe broken I am. For once I hope someone won't cower away at the scars. At me.

@colourlessflower: There will always be scars to your beautiful, just keep in mind how much you have overcome. You are truly strong and who ever can look through those scars will see that too 🙂- good luck and btw awesome writing.
