@NCCindy You aren't wrong. I ordered at a chinese restaurant once and it was terrible. Too thick and the taste was wrong. I just make my own with my grandmothers recipe.

@deepblacknothingness I've been spoiled ... I've spent a lot of time on business trips in China. When it comes to Chinese food, once you've had the real thing, the American version rarely compares. That said, courtesy of a Chinese co-worker, I did find a little family run place nearby which caters to Chinese people in the area which is pretty good.
As other dishes go, I've yet to find a really good plate of Sichuan Green Beans in the USA.

@NCCindy I agree the real version will usually always beat out the American counterpart. There was a place near me that used to do dim sum. It was fantastic.
