Made A Choice [I Dont Use Drugs Or Alcohol]
I grew up around addicts.
Most of the family members on both sides of my family were addicted to either drugs, alcohol, or both. It was chaotic and basically pretty shitty. I never really felt safe as a child.
As a result, I decided early on that I wouldn't let that happen to me. I smoked pot in my teens, and in my early 20s I drank and would take prescription pills once in a while, but I (thankfully) always knew my limit and never overdid it. Then by the time I hit 30 I was like "Nah I'm good", and stopped everything cold turkey.
It just ain't worth it.
