@JS1992 The best rule of thumb i can think of is to always live within your means, and learn to save a portion for emergencies and another portion just for fun.

Don’t buy something too expensive! My house is less than what I rented for in a more expensive town! You can do it! If you get a FHA loan save 3 1/2 % down and you can ask the seller to pay your closing costs. I did! There are also government no down payment loans you can apply for if you make very little money some sellers won’t take your offer because they take longer but you can pray and try!
