I Hate Going to Doctors

I get rushed in and out as fast as possible. One doctor told me he LITERALLY has a thousand patients! Another doctor was great, and he is helping me, but gave me half of the usual 10 min. because had had "an emergency meeting." I feel non-existent. It feels insulting.

I am seriously thinking of requesting all future appointments take place over the phone because that way I won't have to drive there and back through traffic, wait in the well named "waiting room," etc. It feels humiliating to me when I feel as if I am putting out more time and effort than the doctor is.

The doctors seem nice enough. But they are overwhelmed with too many patients and, since I am an aging baby boomer, it will only get worse. I don't want to feel so humble anymore.

I know what you mean, I have to go twice a week sometimes more. They want you in and out fast as possible. Mine doesn't really listen to me telling him of the pains I'm having, they think you shouldn't hurt. I told him one time I will stab a knife through your foot and then you take a Tylenol and see if that helps you because that's how mine feels. Sometimes you just have to get mad to get there attention. I have one today and I dread it. It's a long drive and two hours just to look at a few skin graphs. That's how it is though. Hope you have better luck with yours

@Footsugar123 No. I am given very little time. I hate feeling rushed. And anonymous.
@greenmountaingal I might see the doctor for five minutes, sometimes like last Thursday he wasn't even there. Is he your regular doctor, the one I see is the surgeon and I know he is always in a rush. If he's your general practice doctor he should give you more time and at least treat you like somebody, know your name at least. I'm sure he checks your chart before seeing you and could act like he knows it. It's all about the mighty dollar and I blame insurance companies for that.

@Footsugar123 I agree. The doctors are often caring but very rushed.
