Yeah, but I was also taught I'd be using cursive all throughout high school and college and needed to learn to do math by hand because I wouldn't always be carrying a calculator in my pocket. Cut to a few years later where high school and college requested everyone to print or type out papers because it was hard to read handwriting and we all carry cell phones with us everywhere we go.

@Bratt Yup. I've no illusions I could do better than a fifth grader on a test. If you don't use it you lose it and I have for sure lost it. You never see most of it again when you get out of school.
