I love color..

My grandmother used to make quilts like that. She called them crazy quilts. She saved every scrap of fabric from making clothing, and even cut up clothing she was about to throw away.

If you love color, try painting your wall behind the bed the same bright green as the solid green square in the top photo. It would cause all the blues in the quilt to pop.

My walls are a light soft grey and I was thinking something with blue in it. Maybe a blueberry that has a hint of purple.

@Magenta The one grandmother I got to know some, made some lovely quilts. They are surely vintage and hand stitched, but not quite as appealing (to me) as the one pictured.

@Magenta there is something very unique about handstiched things...they always have more character.

My daughter recently made her friend a blanket ...and one corner went all wrong .

She obsessed about it, but time limited her from fixing it.
Yet....when it was all finished ...that wonky corner gave it personality.

You're right....it really does add charm.
