Is it me or would you feel the same?

So a family member has sent me a text telling me good news. I wished them well and said my congratulations but deep down I could careless.I could careless because we hardly ever text/chat/connect with one another etc. I just see the relative as a distant stranger now. I focus my energy/connections on people who connect with me and that I built familiarity with based on similar interest.

Blood is thicker then water.. Don't burn your family bridges.. Because you may find out that your ""Friends"" will turn out to be only ""good times friends only"" once you hit some hard times they will evaporate like water..

@Adstar Sadly family can do you even worse, thats why I've never liked that saying.

@REMsleep Of course.. If your family was / is a toxic one then avoiding them is reasonable.. But if it is only the case of not being in regular contact then cutting contact when it does happen is not wise..

@Adstar I mean I am not necessarily burning bridges and not cutting contact. I did reply back to her text with good wishes but she won't be hearing much from me unless she texts me first about something and my replies are going to be short and sweet.
