I Got The Slipper At School

Not actually the slipper but one stroke of the gym climbing-rope on which I'd been swinging in a dangerous manner against instructions. As did the boy who egged me into copying him.

No doubt entertaining that most salacious or audiences, a PE class full of pubescent or early-adolescent boys!

I got the slipper for swinging on climbing ropes. Slipperings were very frequent events in PE.

@Sharon I thought the slipperings were a compulsory part of the PE curriculum 🤔
Sharon · F
@jackcros You could be right.

I reckon "The Slipper, Use of" was part of the PE teacher's training in those halcyon days of thin twill shorts without underpants, and "respect" being spelled f.e.a.r. :-)

In that case of mine I suppose the teacher used what he thought the more appropriate weapon in the circumstances. He did use the slipper, well, plimsoll, but only very rarely. Perhaps the threat was always in the background and sufficient!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Sharon I wonder if your teachers enjoyed that - whether from mere bullying or because it excited them is another matter.
Sharon · F
@ArishMell I'me sure some teachers did enjoy doing it. That's very clear in cases where teachers only used CP with boys. Obviously they had some other method of dealing with girls who committed the same offences that they were also totally confident was sufficient. They were so confident in fact that they actually told girls they could misbehave as much as they wished with no fear of getting the slipper or cane. The fact that they chose not to use that same method with boys is strong evidence of a prurient motive, which would have been quickly recognized as such if they had targeted girls instead of boys.

@Sharon Well, I would have expected girls to be dealt with by female members of staff, and probably the majority were. Prurient maybe, or just too much enjoying their power.
Sharon · F
@ArishMell Fair enough, if boys were only dealt with by male members of staff too. That doesn't prevent the prurient interests of gay/lesbian teachers though.
@Sharon True you just can't avoid all suggestion or possibility of prurience. Unless you hand the slipper to a robot.
@ArishMell I'm American so I want to make sure I understand the terminology. A plimsoll is a type of footwear that can be worn outdoors, correct? Here, a "slipper" is a soft foot covering intended to be worn indoors to keep your feet warm, or maybe to go outside to get the mail or for very short distances. Some of them are more like thick stockings where they don't really have a sole. So smacking someone with one would be like smacking them with a heavy stocking. I assume you're referring to something more substantial than this:

@LeopoldBloom A plimsoll is like an old fashioned tennis shoe or gym shoe.

@SensibleJulie and really stings for a while
@Denise61 Anythimg that is made of rubber has a wicked sting.
Denise61 · F
@SensibleJulie yes it does,
Plus leaves an impression in both ways on your bum
barney1 · M
@Denise61 yes but the sting of the slipper goes much quicker than the pain of the cane
