I Have Asperger's Syndrome

@SW-User I hear ya, getting through to the school system where we lived in a rural was like pulling teeth! 😟 I did a lot of volunteer work.

@Peaches I'm glad he was diagnosed early. When i was a kid it wasn't even a diagnosis. I was just told by everyone i was a naughty child who wouldn't follow instructions or asked too many questions. And yes you are right, in a lot of cases like me and your son, we can be very sociable and have great empathy skills and also make great partners in relationships. I just have some holes in my social skills, as in the way i see things. So when it comes to jobs for instance I can be a great employee but i need a boss who is understanding rather than someone who tries to hammer a square peg into a round hole. How is your son going with work and/or college? Does he struggle with somethings and excel at others?

@SW-User He was punished for his behavior sadly too. He gets frustrated easily and won't go to college, he works with his dad on cars.

@Peaches I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't go to college when i first finished school as i would have struggled socially. But i went when i was in my late 20's and i did really well. He might find the same thing too perhaps. That's great he works with his dad.
