I Think That Life Is Unfair

so ridiculous! another 0.00024% and id round up to an A-

Danerol · 36-40, M
Well congrats and sorry for you not getting an A-
SW-User
That’s low of them
OlderDude · 61-69, M
That's still pretty darn good, but I'd be pissed at that as well. When did they start grading to the bloody 100,000th of a point?
That's rediculous. This society has gone bonkers. That's a 90% and sorry, the weak justification of not rounding due to being ethical is crap. Who on earth brought in marks to that degree of exactness anyway?
Pffft
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
@OlderDude thank you, yes!! that specific of a number makes it seem like its an exacting science experiment when really the grade includes a ton of like subjective stuff too!!
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Still a good score
496sbc · 36-40, M
wow u got screwed over if thats ur grade. definitely i agree life is totally unbelievable unfair
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
@496sbc thanks!
496sbc · 36-40, M
ur very welcome and i have had it worse then that. one time i had an 89.99999 lol no joke. boy was i pissed 😤 @GirlSerendipity
BlueVeins · 22-25
Oof git rick'd.
Viper · M
It's crazy when that happens, of course you could always try talking with your teacher, sometimes you can ask for an extra way to bump it up just a tad, like bonus assignment, or redoing an assignment, and sometimes they'll just give it to you....

Worse they can do is say no (and sometimes they do that too).
As a professor I wish I had a dollar for all the students who sought a rounding up. Like I never would have thought about that on my own.
There’s really no other way
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
@BiasForAction @sarabee1995 i think the other way is to be flexible with the rules!
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@BiasForAction 👍

@GirlSerendipity But is that fair to the person who studied her ass off and got a 90.1%?? There has to be some cut off. It sucks for sure and I'm sorry you ended up on that side of it, but there has to be some cut off.
Singland · M
By every rule I was taught it does average out to 90%. Oh, except where money was concerned, a fraction like that could be irrefutable proof of serious corruption!
nickir · 61-69, M
I hate to bring this up but in presenting your argument, you were too lazy to proofread your own post. The difference between your grade & an A- is not .00024%.It is .05023%. I'm not commenting on whether I would have cut you some slack, just that I would have seen that kind of sloppiness as an argument against. You're asking me for an academic favor, yet it's not important enough to YOU to check that the supplication is done properly.
However, I have a soft spot for nurses, who have a very stressful job that is not acknowledged to be as important as it is. I might have let you skate.
anderst · 46-50, M
@GirlSerendipity i Hope you got not in trouble when your mom talk with you
LondonCowboy · 51-55, M
You did really well though 🌹 Be Proud of your accomplishment and keep going for Gold ❤️
Sharky86 · 36-40, M
So? It doesn't seem bad anyway. Keep doing good
So close and so far. But good for you for doing so well.
Ladieshairdresser · 51-55, M
Story of my life but 89.9 is impressive!
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
I'm sorry you didn't get the grade you hoped for.

But are you saying that, had it been a 89.95%, then the policy would have been an A-?? Most of my classes required a 90% for an A-.
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
@sarabee1995 i think an 89.9999999% still would have been a B+ but i think i might have been able to get this particular prof to round it up to an A-
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@GirlSerendipity Ahh. I see. Lol I never had that kind of professor (that I know of).
easyvicky · 31-35, F
mathsman · 70-79, M
At exam boards those kinds of issues are usually considered and marks are raised sufficiently for a student to achieve the next grade up
tindrummer · M
How did your Mom feel about this?
Want to talk again?
GirlSerendipity · 26-30, F
@tindrummer sure sir . . . she half understand and half is like unflexible
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@tindrummer I suspect you had a conversation with a few implements.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@MasterLee that wouldn't be fair at all...a B+ is nothing to be angry with...
lonelytraveller · 41-45, M
In a couple of years you will laugh about that. I already had a smile looking at the screenshot

Imtrying · 36-40, M
That’s the wooorst!
But won’t affect your nursing career at all. :)
th3r0n · 41-45, M
So close to an A, wish they had given it to you
SW-User
Good grief
That should definitely be an A gimmie
lou502008 · 61-69, M
