I Challenge You to Challenge Me to Write

[i][c=#4C0073]We had chatted on social media for weeks and finally arranged our schedules to meet. You chose a park between our two workplaces and I brought wine and snacks. You smiled during our brief meal…our chemistry was instant as we already knew one another through shared typed words. Our humor was a match. Our philosophies differed, but they complimented one another nicely. Everything felt comfortable. And then we took our walk along the trail.
You scampered about looking at the autumn foliage. I watched you. You took photos of the simplest items and made them amazing to see with your techniques. You were a talented, witty and beautiful woman. I enjoyed my time with you and wondered if there would ever be another.
Then we returned to your car. You invited me in to sit and talk and we took advantage of the car’s air conditioning on this unseasonably hot day. And then our eyes met and the world changed.
Yes, we had looked at one another when we ate and when we walked. We shared laughter and touches. But now, our gazes locked. We sat in silence looking deep into one another’s blue eyes. No words were spoken except for your whisper of “what is happening?” Our hearts were racing but there was an intense calm surrounding us. I kept looking, and there is was in the utter depths of your blue eyes. It wasn’t your soul. It was mine. My entire essence had found it’s oasis in this crazy world. Within this attractive and funny woman before me was my soul and I felt yours within me. We bonded instantly and unexpectedly.
We met only an hour earlier for the first time. But we parted shortly after realizing we’ve known each other forever.[/c][/i]
