So early last year I bought this energy-smart, "GE's long-lasting Spiral CFL" light-bulb... A box of two for about $17 or something... Pricey I thought, but hey, it says on the box "13.7 year life" so, sure... I could have bought a similar no-brand light-bulb for half the price, but I rather pay a bit more and feel reasured, because it's a well-established North American brand, General Electric...! Hey, it's a light-bulb, who better than General Electric to make light-bulbs, right...?
This morning it burned out, less an a year since I bought it... (it was on my night lamp, don't use it much). I was going to go on a rant as of how American manufacturing has gone down the drain and how American quality is not what it used to be blah blah blah, then I realized that thing is "Made in China" of course... 😒
So $17 dollars for something made with almost-slave Chinese labor and questionable quality... No wonder American companies are making so much money these days...! And to think that business-friendly Donald wants to end all that windfall by bringing back jobs to America...! (that's what he said...) 🙄
