I'm Sick Of The Lies

So early last year I bought this energy-smart, "GE's long-lasting Spiral CFL" light-bulb... A box of two for about $17 or something... Pricey I thought, but hey, it says on the box "13.7 year life" so, sure... I could have bought a similar no-brand light-bulb for half the price, but I rather pay a bit more and feel reasured, because it's a well-established North American brand, General Electric...! Hey, it's a light-bulb, who better than General Electric to make light-bulbs, right...?

This morning it burned out, less an a year since I bought it... (it was on my night lamp, don't use it much). I was going to go on a rant as of how American manufacturing has gone down the drain and how American quality is not what it used to be blah blah blah, then I realized that thing is "Made in China" of course...

So $17 dollars for something made with almost-slave Chinese labor and questionable quality... No wonder American companies are making so much money these days...! And to think that business-friendly Donald wants to end all that windfall by bringing back jobs to America...! (that's what he said...)

I tried the mini florescents but gave up on them when something better came along. My whole house is lit by LEDs. Never had one burn out after 10 years.

The wzges in China are going up so businesses need an excuse to move to lower wage countries.
I don't think I understand your point.

@FearfulHarmonyReborn Frankly I don't have "a point"... Or maybe I have several points... You may be wondering about my mentioning of Donald... The point there is the contradiction of positioning himself as business-friendly and at the same time claiming to be the defender of American jobs: it's either/or... The reason so much American manufacturing has moved to China is because it saves the companies money because labor costs there are a fraction of what they would be if they had to pay Americans... I think it's rather funny that both big business and blue-collar unemployed people chose to believe Trump and don't realize he just wants to be all things to all people and promises whatever people wants to hear, without realizing he contradicts himself...
I don't think that was my point, but since you asked...
@drymer His goal is to make it favourable for the companies to place jobs in America and unfavourable for them to put them overseas.
I didn't even pay that much for my led bulbs
