I Want to Hear Your Most Painful Life Experience

The worst pain I have ever been in was caused by allergic reaction. Basically it cause a scabby rash formed on the inside of my throat and it was swollen . I couldn’t eat solid food at all and it was too painful to try. For about 1 maybe 2 months I ate only mashed food and a lot of yogurt, ice cream and milk.
Cause I was a little kid I was crying most of the nights and days. After a few days mum dumped me with my Nan cause she couldn’t handle me and a 1 year old.
So for the time I was with Nan.

I’m still going through it. Shingles. That pain can last for months if not years. It’s deep in the nerves too, so medications can only dull it. The first few weeks are a nightmare.
@Peapod Never had it but those I know who have had it have convinced me I don't want it. 🤗🤗

@Mamapolo2016 I tell everyone...go get the Shingrex vaccine. I sure convinced my husband who watched me cry for a month straight when it first hit.
@Peapod I know it's wicked. I'm due next year for the vaccine again.

@Mamapolo2016, good to hear. 🤗. You can still get an outbreak after the vaccine, but it’s not nearly as bad and it just may save you from permanent nerve damage which unfortunately happens in many cases.

My poor MIL got it at age 95!!! and used to call the paramedics to take her to the hospital to get a shot of morphine since nothing helped her nerve pain. She passed away last year at age 98, but we all swore she would have lived past a hundred before shingles hit her. Chronic pain is so hard to take, especially for elderly people. 😥
@Peapod One can only do what one can and hope it's enough. I don't aspire to live to 100...but I don't want to live months in severe pain, either.

@Peapod My doctor won't give the vaccine to me. He says it's because I am 75 years old.

@greenmountaingal I am really sorry to hear that and I think that is ridiculous since the older we get, the more likely we will have permanent nerve damage. I know I have nerve damage after being 6 months out from it. But I am happy I got the first vaccine and just patiently waiting to get the second one. I never want this again.
