I Experienced Racism

I could write quite a few experiences on this topic. My 1st will be from 8th grade at a private Christian school in a small city in Illinois. A classmate,who's mother was white and father who was black, told me that I couldn't "go with" a white boy, but only black boys. Since 4th grade I was attracted to both white and black boys. But it was very well known that I had a crush on a particular white boy since 6th grade. My classmate "explained" to me that she, as a half white/half black girl,c ould date both black and white boys.
9 years later I have a son with the same dna as her, whom I will encourage to love freely.
