I Love My Job
Been there about a week now and I have a habit of always falling in love with where I work, and this time it is no different. Everyone there is so so nice, and the guy who is the chef is also the owner so there is no conflict, no limits on what the kitchen could do. He's very passionate, and cooks as easily as breathing. He works the sauté station and he said he wants to see me there some day. I'll come around the range when I have spare time (things are already down, or my station didn't have anything for that particular ticket) and watch him. He's started having me doing the shrimp scampi. Sunday he said right after a rush, "I wanna see you there next week."Wednesday or Thursday night, it'll be like father and son.
He always laughs and sings and makes jokes. Today it was just me and him in the back, we close at 2 Mondays, and the one waitress comes back asking about lunch specials, and he goes, in that thick Greek accent, "Me, over rice." He knows he's gorgeous. The menu there is wonderful, and it doesn't get boring, everything is pretty nice. His specials are something to die for the way he garnishes and just the things he thinks of. He saved large clam shells for a special the other night where you get three shells and they all were stuffed with a different, delicious seafood item inside. It really is quite wonderful there. The dishwashers are so nice, too. There's this kid who is maybe a year older than me and he's an absolute sweetheart, we both agree the physical appearance of the chef is fuego.
Tomorrow is my first day off since last Monday, and I'm already feeling boredom and loss. What I'll do with my day I have no idea. I hope I don't shrivel in this heat.
