I Fear Giving Birth

I'm not pregnant nor do I plan on getting pregnant ever, lol. But childbirth seems really scary just for how painful it looks! I had an opportunity to see my sister giving birth when she had her baby last Saturday but I chickened out. 馃槬 But oddly enough my sister says the depiction of women giving birth in the media seems a little overly dramatic, having given birth herself twice. She says it is indeed very painful but it's never had her screaming in agonizing pain. But then again, she was on painkillers both times she gave birth so maybe it really is that bad doing it the all-natural way. 馃槄 She did tell me once that "If it hurts that bad even when I'm on pain medicine then I don't ever want to experience a natural birth!" 馃槵

It depends on the person. Some women do not have a ripe cervix when they go into labour so their body can take sooo long to get ready for delivery. Those are like 12+ hour deliveries. Extremely painful and exhausting.

And then others have a four hour delivery. Everything goes smoothly. Contractions hurt but it goes fast. That was mine. 10/10 would do again.

@Flenflyys And then you have women like my sister-in-law that give birth in 45 minutes. Woooo, rapid delivery.

Yea those are kind of unlucky too though, a relative did and had the baby in the car on the way to the hospital. The interior was totally trashed 馃槀. Those womens bodies are in labour long before they realize it.

@Flenflyys Yeah, her first was an hour and a half from water breaking to delivery and her second was 45 minutes. She only just barely made it to the hospital. The nurses told my brother that he should probably take some classes on home delivery for the next one, lol.

Lol no kidding they usually get faster
