I Have Borderline Personality Disorder

I don't have BPD, but I live with someone (my wife) that does. Way back on EP, someone posted this video, which I found useful.

thank you for this. 馃挆
My ex has a diagnosis of bi polar disorder and recently a new diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder. It is clear that his adulthood is dominated by his abusive childhood and that he harbours a lot of damage subconsciously which we hope can be "undone" through Schema and psychotherapy. We have 3 children together and currently they do not see him due to his ill health. Do you have any more links that could provide me with more information like this one so that I can educate myself and others to his way of thinking?
Thanks
@AutumnxRayne: Sorry, this was the only link I have. I tried this with my wife and it was amazing.

@Kolchak: I won't lie, right now I'm convinced that the best thing to do is walk away. I've read and watched some things that have been a cause for concern and now left in limbo.
@SugarRush Well, to be honest, I'm probably walking away from my marriage as soon as my daughter goes off to college in 4 years. I have a fairly tough disposition for most things, but it's like walking on eggshells each and every day.

For instance, something as simple as--say--toothpaste. She suddenly buys some gosh awful stuff because it's on sale. If I mention anything, how much I dislike it, she will take it really, really personal, and retort with something akin to (in the video) "watching everything I do" or "criticizing everything I do" (her normal response into that schema).

The solution is to avoid it, and just go to the store and buy what I want. Thing is, not being able to have a basic conversation about little things without it going sideways is really trying my patience.

There is no known cure for a borderline personality. There is no standard of treatment medically, psychiatrically or psychologically for this kind of problem. Patients are often resistent to treatment. Many psychologists refuse to work with patients like this because the prognosis is so bleak.

Maybe there will be a better understanding of this kind of problem in the future. I hope so. I worked at a mental hospital, and I had a very hard time with these types of patients.
That was very interesting and clarifying
