I Have Borderline Personality Disorder

I was diagnosed with BPD about 4 months ago. When I got my diagnosis, everything in my life started to make sense. This doesn’t make it easier and it doesn’t make me feel any better about it. I feel so alone. I don’t know anyone else who has this and want to meet new people and talk to those who do! Don’t hesitate to message me, I would love to meet new people.

Borderline is one of the most stigmatizing and misunderstood diagnoses you can have. There is even a move to re name it more accurately. Severe Emotional Disorder I think is what they want to call it. I like the sound of "complex PTSD" better though.

@Doomflower the commonalities between BPD, PTSD and bipolar are many. Borderlines protect themselves in different ways. One is splitting. People in turn split back. Half the staff sees the borderline pattients suffering and gently forged a relationship while the other half puts their hands on their hips and starts lecturing about “ inappropriate behavior “.
I have worked with borderlines for decades. Let’s just say my hands were never on my hips and my patients got well

BPD is treatable. I’ve had quite a few success stories in my clinical psych practice. Find a theapist you like who focuses on your experience of things and is there to build you up. ❤️
So what your disabled big deal

@1231231231a I don’t think your comment was supportive. We will have to agree to disagree on this one

Mental illness in general is largely misunderstood. It's really tough to explain something like unwanted thoughts to someone who doesn't get them.
