I Have Borderline Personality Disorder

I was diagnosed at 16 and didn't accept it until I had four more opinions. It doesn't affect me as much now I'm over 30 than it did when I was younger. Having a great therapist for the last 8 years who doesn't sugar coat things has also helped. But I've also learnt to accept it as part of me and have gone from hating the extreme emotions to loving them. Life is all about experiences, learning and feeling the good and bad and us borderlines get to feel this to the most fullest.
in part of my work i deal with people that are off the "main sequence" a term borrowed from stellar physics
if normal is the middle of the bell curve, i think we are unwise to count those closer to the ends as being, off or pathological
certainly some are, but i find that many are just in the wrong place a person well suit4d to farming wil not be happy in an office world
A wild ass adventurer ( yes me) does not fit well in a corporate environment
I like the analogy, of the Cartoon world everyone is some kind of animal you wouldn't expect Dr Hound to be Like Professor Duck
equally.
a Zebra is not a horse gone wrong.

I agree completely in the end its all labels and no one fits into one category completely we are all different made up of our own learnings and experience although in world we live in today people love to categorise, I've even noticed it with a few people on here. Its nice to hear someone with a fresh point of view on things :)

I too have BPD. It definitely makes life interesting. I am finally going through a treatment plan and it is helping me see my thinking needs to be changed. It is hard, but at least it is starting to work.

Congratulations!!! It sounds as you did a soon and great job.
I don't want to sugar coat you either. But I have to say what I think. I know how hard this disorder can be. Some people see how borderlines hurt others but I know they also suffer a lot.
Go ahead! There are many things a person with borderline personality disorder can offer to other because of their special sensitiviness.
I hope you're leading your life the way you want regardless!
