My Buddhist teacher used to tell us something similar. The gut instinct is far older and more evolved than the relative newcomer, the neocortex

I have known these ideas for a long time, and thought the ideas were knowledge. I was wrong. The ideas just got in the way. This video was a reminder of that to me. Thanks for posting.
