wow that is just plain stupid, what was the ethnic group?

sereneblessings · 31-35, F
MissingNotes I don't mean to tear the boy up, it just saddens me what's happening to us and also breaks my heart to see the innocence of a child's heart begin to disappear under the influence of our world.

We are highly conditioned or trained to hate each other through traditions and religious propaganda .. it's separative.. where there is separation, there is conflict and violence.. it is sane and simple but fear ,pride insecurity doesn't allow us to look into this.

Let's hope he'll grow up and change for the better. When I was a preteen/teen I had an irrational hatred for certain people. Now I can only reflect on the past and realize how immature, shallow and wrong I was.

It's wishful thinking but he might grow up. Maybe anyways. But I share your annoyance how people use their distaste for political correctness as a rationalization for their irrational hatred. Although I wouldn't find much irony in someone being a devout christian while also being prejudges and hateful to towards an ethnic group. Most of the people who I have actually seen in real life who are most blatantly and vocally like that have been devout Christians. The only irony there is that someone who is like that usually thinks highly of themselves in terms of morals, unaware of how low and basic they actually are.

Kimnray you're a very angry person aren't you. So anyone who actually bothers to care is a bleeding heart liberal? You are EXACTLY the point I'm making in my post! Read it again! That caring and compassion are looked at as politically correct, but people like you claiming to be Christians can go to church on Sunday and live against the teachings of Christ the rest of the week! The teachings of Christ are beautiful and all about loving your fellow man, not making up excuses for prejudice and racism.

Of course hating anyone for race/ethnicity is wrong. What I found interesting about your thread is the fact that you are trying to debate logically with a fifteen year old boy. More than likely, he said this to piss you off, and it worked. That's what 15 year old boys do. Chances are, he doesn't remember saying it, and never meant it to begin with. Think Beavis and Butthead, add or subtract 5 or ten iq points and you're in the ball park of understanding your debate opponent. The minority's I know have much bigger shoulders, and are far more intelligent than the left wing gives them credit for. They know when someone is being racist, because they live it. It's always been odd to me that the biggest accusations of racism often come from some white suburbanite bleeding heart 20 something who doesn't know shit about anything, except how to be offended. The other oddity about your post is the fact that he was a Christian. Why is that relevant? You were just pointing out the irony?
Your entire post was about not judging a group of people prematurely, but you ended up doing just that to Christians. Christians frankly get treated worse than any other group on the planet, and they don't burn night clubs, or stone women to death. I guess we'll just have to disagree on this issue.

Bridgeofgarden.. Yes yes.. there is so much of self centered activity ..the fears..anxiety..loneliness..everyone wants to prove themselves..reaction is outcome of that feeling of me and possession.. why don't we discuss like friends? Life is all about discussion not debate.. debate is like standing on opposite banks of river and cursing each other..but discussion is like jumping into that river, feeling of togetherness, laughter..perhaps then we can reach to the immensity measureless thing called life.. ( ocean).. same thing can be related with religious and non religious people..

peaceful, you're so right on. Too many people react rather than think. If there was more thinking and less reacting maybe the world would be a little brighter.

Fanatic religious belief ,what ever may be the religious faith, create hatred to others.
olderguy2016 · 70-79, M
@Bridsgarden,exceptions are everywhere, so not always true.
sereneblessings · 31-35, F
Kimnray of course of course you're entitled to an opinion, but when you call me a "white suburbanite bleeding heart 20something that doesn't know shit" you've left opinion behind and you're making an angry personal attack toward someone you know nothing about. How do you know I'm white and a suburbanite? I would have made the same ironic observation about the boy no matter what religion his family so diligently observes. BECAUSE (one more time) these are people who are professing a love for their faith without actually practicing it in their daily lives. And if you are Christians then I don't have to tell you that in the New Testament Jesus talks about belief in God is not enough, you need to live the life.

This thread is depressing. It saddens me to see people so divisive. At 15 you could attribute his attitude to immaturity. But I would hope the adults responding would get the point that this posting is about the value of tolerance.
Danny9124 · 31-35, M
Sadly it is pretty common in the world. Mostly because of fear. They are scared at people who don´t have the same way of life like they have.
Kimnray · 46-50, C
I wasn't attacking you, I don't know you. When I say bleeding heart suburbanite, I'm pointing out a trend I've seen frequently of left leaning commentators giving Islam a pass while they attack Christianity at every turn. I have no right to label you personally, which wasn't my intention. Nor should you be labeling me as "angry" or whatever. In my opinion, you could've left his religion out of it altogether. Simple as that. I don't expect you to agree, I'm sure we will find many other things in the future that we can agree on. Til then, take care
sereneblessings · 31-35, F
olderguy it's sad to say but that is often true. Not always, but too often.
Kimnray · 46-50, C
Actually not angry at all, I just don't agree with your post. We're allowed to disagree here, and you have a right to your opinion. I just doubt that had the kid been muslim, you would have bothered bringing religion up at all. I could be wrong here, but I don't think so.
sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M
what's funny is he's probably mixed race like most of us.

i say throw out some DNA testing and watch what happens next.
Danny9124 · 31-35, M
Well, it could be worse, he could have judged you for other reasons too. Kids can be so cruel sometimes.^^"

Some communities promote hate over debate and acceptance unfortunately.
