I Despise Prejudice of Any Kind

A 15 year old boy said to me recently, quite casually, that he hated a particular ethnic group. Not necessary to mention who he hates but no it's not Muslims. When I tried to impart to him how wrong it is to hate people, especially based on what they are rather than the individual that they are, he told me that he just plain hates them and there's no reason for me to get political about it. And that's what really cuts deep. That there is this rising consciousness in society that not being able to express and display hate is the handcuffs of political correctness. It's not being politically correct, it's being civil! It's existing together with the other people who live on this planet, in this country, in this neighborhood. That's why it's called civilization. And the biggest irony of all is him and his family are devout Born Again Christians who never miss church on Sunday or fail to say a prayer before a meal. But it's OK to hate an entire race of people. And to deny those people are inferior is political correctness.

Bridgeofgarden.. Yes yes.. there is so much of self centered activity ..the fears..anxiety..loneliness..everyone wants to prove themselves..reaction is outcome of that feeling of me and possession.. why don't we discuss like friends? Life is all about discussion not debate.. debate is like standing on opposite banks of river and cursing each other..but discussion is like jumping into that river, feeling of togetherness, laughter..perhaps then we can reach to the immensity measureless thing called life.. ( ocean).. same thing can be related with religious and non religious people..
