I Despise Prejudice of Any Kind

A 15 year old boy said to me recently, quite casually, that he hated a particular ethnic group. Not necessary to mention who he hates but no it's not Muslims. When I tried to impart to him how wrong it is to hate people, especially based on what they are rather than the individual that they are, he told me that he just plain hates them and there's no reason for me to get political about it. And that's what really cuts deep. That there is this rising consciousness in society that not being able to express and display hate is the handcuffs of political correctness. It's not being politically correct, it's being civil! It's existing together with the other people who live on this planet, in this country, in this neighborhood. That's why it's called civilization. And the biggest irony of all is him and his family are devout Born Again Christians who never miss church on Sunday or fail to say a prayer before a meal. But it's OK to hate an entire race of people. And to deny those people are inferior is political correctness.

Of course hating anyone for race/ethnicity is wrong. What I found interesting about your thread is the fact that you are trying to debate logically with a fifteen year old boy. More than likely, he said this to piss you off, and it worked. That's what 15 year old boys do. Chances are, he doesn't remember saying it, and never meant it to begin with. Think Beavis and Butthead, add or subtract 5 or ten iq points and you're in the ball park of understanding your debate opponent. The minority's I know have much bigger shoulders, and are far more intelligent than the left wing gives them credit for. They know when someone is being racist, because they live it. It's always been odd to me that the biggest accusations of racism often come from some white suburbanite bleeding heart 20 something who doesn't know shit about anything, except how to be offended. The other oddity about your post is the fact that he was a Christian. Why is that relevant? You were just pointing out the irony?
Your entire post was about not judging a group of people prematurely, but you ended up doing just that to Christians. Christians frankly get treated worse than any other group on the planet, and they don't burn night clubs, or stone women to death. I guess we'll just have to disagree on this issue.
