How were your family members... while growing up? How did it impact.... you?

My parents split the summer I was 11.
My Father was a distant figure in and out of my life from then on.
Much of my time was then spent trying to protect my younger brother from a lot of negativity from my Mother and her relatives.
And then later my two half-Sisters the same.
I started part-time work at 14.
Left home at 16 and never went back until I got a message that if nobody was able to take care of my Mother after an operation it was unlikely she’d be able to return home
So it fell to me to be the carer.
I still talk to my siblings but it’s not as though we’re close.
We drift in and out of each other’s lives.
Dad remarried and she had three youngsters of her own. My Mother remarried twice and never seemed happy until husband #3.
So I guess life was always about looking after somebody or other
