I think its time we end this stigma about crying in general. crying is ok, its often the appropriate reaction to something sad. other cultures have stigma about laughing out loud. why not just embrace emotions, when its sad, cry, when its funny, laugh. we do more harm to people by teaching everyone that if you cry there is something wrong with you, it forces people to live their emotions in silence which can lead to much more disastrous consequences.

@reflectingmonkey You're welcome.🌺 Sometimes I want to cry and I feel it's not "right" to in front of others. I think WE OURSELVES think we look "weak", but if or when I see someone crying, (pretty rare but I have in past), I'd NEVER think of them as weak. I saw them as sad in that MOMENT. Not some defining trait at all. I actually admired them for showing how they were feeling. We need to stop defining what emotions might make us LOOK like. They don't DEFINE us, we just have them. So I really agreed with your reply🐞🙂

@Coralmist I can say that I have totally freed myself of this social stigma, everyone knows that if I feel sad, I will cry. I cry often but for me its normal so I don't feel crushed or destroyed by it. to me its exactly like laughing, i cry for a few seconds and then I move on with my day. sometimes people don't get it, some have even suggested I should see a shrink but to me this reaction is ridiculous, I'm not having a depression because I cry about something specific and it doesnt prevent me from enjoying life. but people who keep it all in, who try to avoid their sad emotions, when THEY cry its the end of the world, they are broken and can't get up because they accumulated too much of it and they think they are defective because they're crying so those same people when they see me cry they think I must be devastated, but no, I'm not, the same way that I can laugh at something and after do something that requires to be serious. sadness is beautiful because it usually means that something is sacred to us, that its important.

@reflectingmonkey I really admire that..you SHOULD express what you feel...we are trying to deny each other our humanity.. for what??? Ty for your reply 🌟🙂

how sweet!

I think its okay If the tears are happy ones .. emotional angst though is not a good idea .. if you can help it. Kids a like sponges soaking everything up. They will see their pains and feel sad & helpless.

It’s okay to show emotion in front of your kids ☺️
