Have you been separated or isolated from family because of the threat of CoVid?

I miss my mom. We live 12 hours away and we aren’t flying or using buses. For health reasons, not driving either.

Yes, all my family live in areas that I’m not allowed to access. I’m not even allowed to meet with friends. The only person I can have at my house is if I was lucky enough to have had a romantic partner before covid. People tell me I’m lucky to be alone but I think it’s because they’re with the wrong person.

@SW-User oh no! That’s no fun. I thought I was happy because there’s less stress about everything... less socials and social burdens... but being apart from someon I live so much like my mom... when I sometimes just want to be loved and accepted... it’s frustrating. So you are by far more isolated than I am. I have immediate family -the “right” one. Still life isn’t perfect and seeing other family and friends freely again would be nice. Are you able to get out and have fun alone? Outdoors?

@Mindful Thanks for understanding and yes I love my outdoors and it keeps me sane. I have lots of national parks to go running and hiking in and I’m hoping by Xmas that I’ll be allowed to go back to the beach again.

Yes, my parents. They're high risk for mortality, We have not seen one another for over 10 months.

@Mindful me too. Not likely though. I think this situation is going to be what it is for a long time. The mere thought of what it would take to get to one another is basically like walking through Chernobyl to see each other.

Over here, the careful use of masks and gloves are really working,@Iwillwait do they live in large metropolitan cities?
Iwillwait · M
@Mindful no, but air travel basically makes this unable to be done.

Hi. All I have is my sis and she lives 30 miles north. She keeps an eye out for me. I wish you well dear

Thanks. Glad you have a sis nearby@SW-User
Yes. My parents are very elderly and I check in with them once or twice a week via phone or FaceTime. I haven’t seen my sisters since February, one of whom recovered from Covid. And I last saw my brother when I visited our parents for Mom’s birthday in July.

@bijouxbroussard they are certainly old, but are they in good shape? I have several friends their age that would knock my head off if I called them elderly. My golf pro is 88.
@samueltyler2 They are definitely still healthy and self sufficient. My father still drives (better than I do) and gets around with no trouble. They don’t seem like they’re in their 80s at all.

@bijouxbroussard I hope I will be that way. You have great genes.
