People like me - who've seen what I've seen and done what I've done - we don't get to have a future. Not really. We're never truly connected to anyone or anything. Everything is dulled. Everything is distant. We don't get to touch this world and feel it on the skin of our fingertips. Not like other people. If you're like me then you understand. If you're not, then you won't.
