I Adore People Who Are Not Afraid to Share Their True Feelings

Bob Beverly's book: Emotional Elegance

relationships twenty-three

When my family cleaned out the house that I grew up in, I came across something that took my breath away. Amidst a pile of papers and old school books, on the table in the bedroom by the old brown lamp, I saw one of those small square tags that you put on Christmas presents. It had my little boy writing on it that read “To the best Mommy in the whole world. Love, Bobby.” The softness of a child. The pure love of a little boy. My mother had her flaws, but she was my mother and I loved her with all my heart. A part of me does not want to admit that heart soaked truth. “A rock feels no pain, and an island never cries.”
