Wife and I want a house. Having some issues on who contributes

just want your honest opinion on this.

My wife and I were talking about a house and going over the application for a loan. The application asks for all your income and Assets. My wife has a trust fund which is considered an asset so I told her we would have to include that. Then for some reason she got kinda animated/weird about it. then she said “if I pay for the down payment with the trust I will have nothing left”. For some reason she thought I was going to ask her to pay the down payment with trust. She seemed upset about it.

So basically I don’t think she is all for helping me out with the trust. Now that I know you can do that.

Is it wrong for me to be a little upset?

There's one thing you're missing that might clear all this up. Good communication. Give that a try and your feelings might chance once she understands where you're actually coming from.

@Eyeamhere good point thanks
Why are you upset about it?
JS1992 · 31-35, M
@midnightrose cause she makes it seem she doesn’t want to help me out with the trust
@JS1992 She explained why, right? It sounds like she doesn't want to be left with nothing. Which is understandable. It isn't wrong for you to be upset but it is kind of silly, especially considering you weren't planning on asking in the first place because you didn't know. Regardless, it would be a good idea to talk it over and figure out the best way to get what you both want for your future.
