What a cool thing. I don't know that I've heard of a center chimney before, or an arrangement like that. I love the character of the woodwork and layout. Very special indeed.

@SweetMae: My old farmhouse had a chimney with multiple stoves tied in. The stoves piped up through the second floor and then across into the chimney to help heat the upstairs bedrooms. Would have liked to see it 100+ years ago to see exactly how it was done.

@ToyMan: I really like the old farm houses. We have several in our family. Mostly passed down from family.

@SweetMae: I've always loved them myself. No two are alike and each have a way of telling a story. I've got some friends who live in new houses in developments and such. And while nice with modern conveniences.....they just seem to lack something an old home has.
