Yes, I remember those kinds of old homes back in NC. My grandmother ran a boarding house there when I was little. In the summer all the tenants had those little sticks/boards in the windows to hold then up.🏚

I did the same only in leather made all of our equipment and bead work ,, I was thinking of changing to colonial when I live back east but I would have been the only one ,, I had a small farm and it would have been easy to be a colonial farmer ,,,I used Dixie guns works for things I could not make ,,

Yes that is why we ( there was about a dozen of us ),, and it was out doors and life was simple but always something to do and we had the mountains to enjoy also ,,

@SweetMae: I've always loved them myself. No two are alike and each have a way of telling a story. I've got some friends who live in new houses in developments and such. And while nice with modern conveniences.....they just seem to lack something an old home has.

I look at so many houses before I found this one. I like the charm.
