I Watched a Movie

[c=#800000]I watched "Sully" last night. It was fair. [/c]

I heard that the real-life "Sully", the pilot, was not happy with the movie, because it portrayed the FAA as trying to "frame" him or discredit him. He said that this never happen, the FAA people never questioned his decision making or his professionalism... The "conflict" was added to the movie to add some tension and drama...

@drymer Maybe it was just to make the movie more interesting.馃

@Peaches Exactly, and that's the issue... The movie was marketed as "based on a true story", so people assume it "all happened". I know the aviation industry and I was puzzled when I watched this movie, because the FAA and the people who investigate aviation accidents are beyond professional and would never allow petty politics or personal egos to interfere in any accident investigation. That just doesn't happen in real life... Then there's the issue of movies so often claiming to be "based on a true story" while often changing crucial facts to make it (in their opinion) "more interesting", even as real facts are often quite interesting by themselves... The movie makers just want to tell "their" stories, what they think "should have happened", and just borrow real-life events because they're unable to come up with their own believable fiction, I guess...

@drymer I think they simply do it for ratings. 猸愶笍

I went to to movie theater to watch it a couple of summers ago. It was a true story so that made it more interesting for me. 猸愶笍
