Thoughts on japanese literature?

Some things are not so easy to -really- understand for Western people. I've read some Japanese literature but what I really love is their illustrated literature: manga.
There are amazing pieces from authors like Taniguchi or Tezuka, Miyazaki or Souryo, Asano etc.

I'm afraid I can't help you there except to say that I have the Japanese word for marijuana tattooed on my chest.

Death in Midsummer and other stories by Yukio Mishima.
The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea was an interesting book too.

Out, by Natsuo Kirano, if you like Japanese female crime fiction.

I like Haruki Murakami...especially Kafka On The Shore

I think it’s hard to read.
