I Am a Sun Worshipper

[big]I'm a newdist[/big]

It all started with poverty. When we moved to Canada we brought very few clothes. And then my father suddenly died, leaving us broke. I had no money to buy clothes and there were no males in the house, so I started going about au naturel. My mother didn't object, and I soon discovered that I could walk down the street this way and not feel ashamed. I always bring something with me- just in case.

Much the same as there were four of us and we lived in the country. With no A/C it was just natural to be nude. Besides I think my mother secretly liked the idea of not having to wash play clothes.

@SW-User And in my early youth it was a gasoline powered washer. Oops, showing my age again!

@SageWanderer I remember seeing an old wringer-washer and washing board in my grandmother's house.

@SW-User Had that kind for years. We got an electric ringer washer from a relative when they upgraded to a fancy washer!

This is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it. I like that you took a difficult situation, made do with what you had, and didn't let you get it down. And because of it, you became a stronger, more confident person.

That is a clever way of keeping the clothes you do own from wearing out 🙂

wow...sorry about your dad. And poverty sucks. No brothers, did you have sisters?

it sounds as though it was ok locally to be clothing free outside...?
