I Dont Understand People

Yesterday this story starts burning up the internet about dolphins swimming through the canals of Venice and how nature is quickly returning to places that man has temporarily abandoned due to the virus. I thought it was a great story. And then today National Geographic reports that the story was not true, just another internet lie made up by someone....for what reason?! Why?!

Even if the person has good intentions- like maybe wanting to give people something to smile about in a dark time- the fact that in this day in age any lie can be exposed in a matter of hours only makes people more cynical and less likely to believe anything they hear or read. Resulting in this age when people believe nothing. Everything we hear or see or read is met with suspicion and paranoia. And a lot of the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the millions of people who post and forward and re-post lies every day.

@Quimliqer No, I posted it on a Q earlier having seen it in the guardian newspaper.

Right... But about the particular Venice story... The dolphins may be fake, but the canals are indeed clearing up:

Well, I'm no expert but from this point of view the things are not really that different. 🤔
