Now I know this is going to sound very dark, but don't driveby shootings look like a lot of fun?

There are driveby's for very specific reasons, normally to settle scores quick and fast in a surprise attack with a reduced risk of harm to the attacker. I doubt they're having fun. Mostly likely scared of getting shot back at, that's why they scarper off so quickly. Because they're cowards.
