Is $63.00 per month a high rate for auto insurance?

How much are you paying, for those of you who drive?
chrisCA · M
I wish I paid that little.
CanadianTraveller · 56-60, M
@SubstantialKick Yes, about that. Rates went up 15% last year, which I have no clue why as with the pandemic, there was a record low of car accidents.
chrisCA · M
@CanadianTraveller Same here. In Ontario, with a clean record. I am not a veteran, but I get the over 50 discount. I do have full coverage on a two year old vehicle.
CanadianTraveller · 56-60, M
@chrisCA I get a group rate through the National Association of Federal Retirees which includes the federal public service, RCMP and retired military/veterans. It is about a 15 percent discount through Johnson Insurance (Intact in Ontario). That also includes grouping my house insurance which is another $1,400 on top of that. House insurance jumped from 40 percent in 2020 for the K4A area.

47 a month. I have a 2017 high spec Mazda 3 but I have an awesome protected no claims bonus so that helps towards the low premium
haven't seen that rate in years.
@chrisCA he's not giving up his Audi and I'm sure as hell not getting rid of my Mercedes
chrisCA · M
@saragoodtimes An Audi? He is not a dick, is he? 😅
@chrisCA he's an Alan

No that is dirt cheap lol I pay over $200.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@Lilymoon That is nuts. Imagine buying a brand new car, and having that plus the payments...yikes.
Lilymoon · F
@SubstantialKick yeah it's crazy...
NCCindy · 36-40, F
That's about what I pay.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
Nope. I pay 65 for full coverage.
When I first started driving at 18, I paid 120-140 and if I'm not mistaken, it was liability!
CanadianTraveller · 56-60, M
@iamnikki That is $780 annually for full coverage. Very good!

I don't remember how much I pay, but yesterday a friend told me she pays $120 a month for her husband's 2018 truck they just bought
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Define "insurance". That rate probably just gets you a card but will not cover you in an accident.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@Tastyfrzz Well according to the forms, I should have full coverage. Keyword is "should".
SirBenedictTheSecond · 22-25, M
$162. Lol I wish mine was $63
SirBenedictTheSecond · 22-25, M
@chrisCA I dread when I inevitably pay more
chrisCA · M
@SirBenedictTheSecond Is the vehicle in a parent's name?
SirBenedictTheSecond · 22-25, M
@chrisCA nah it’s in my name. I use progressive
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
It depends on what you drive and where you park it.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
Sounds average to me. But depends on your car
plasticpants02 · 61-69, M
Sounds cheap to me
Nope. That's a bargain.
