What service do you use to file your tax returns?

I used TurboTax and spent around 70(Processing + Audit Insurance). I feel like they are a waste of time and money. Now I do it myself.

Last time I got an audit from IRS when I was living in another country. It was a painful 2 hour wait followed by an hour and half of questions related to previous year's task and stuff. Finally, it got all sorted out, but Turbo Tax didn't take any responsibility to help, while they promised they would. I was paying them extra for it so that I don't have to deal with the audit(It was clearly in their clause), but they said I gotta do the audit myself. They are scammers.

My parents do them. I’m like dumb. lol

I use Voyeur Tax Service. They tend to look at the figures a lot closer than most. 😏

I have an accountant. Between the multiple 1099 forms and a myriad of deductions it’s just easier to use him, plus his fee is deductible on next years taxes.

Turbo tax has a free edition for simple 1040 tax filers. It's totally free! The itemized forms cost an additional fee but I believe it's like $25-$40.
