I hope whoever it was trying to break into the house last night doesn't come again?

It's getting too cold to chase em down the street with a bat at 3:30am.

Don’t count on it. I had someone opening my storm door for almost a week one time, would go to sleep in my recliner and wake up thinking I was having the same dream every night...hearing the screechy sound of the spring on the door. Then on Friday night I stayed awake after watching the evening news and heard it again. Someone was probably looking through the peephole to see if there was any light or movement inside. I taped a black paper over the peephole and called the police the next morning and they did patrols about the same time as they were coming around and it stopped.

@cherokeepatti I wouldn't trust the cops here to jump to. Last time I caught the intruder climbing thru the window. I called 000 Whilst I was standing in the doorway with my bat and my dog. It wasn't until Snickers licked him that the intruder backed out. He hung round for an hour trying to find another way in. The cops didn't arrive until 6 hours later! I told them so too.

@Thevy29 worthless then. You need deterrents to them coming around for a visit.

It might be time to invest in some cheap window security locks that will set off an alarm if the window is opened.
