Being a team.

The whole of a team may be greater than the sum of it’s parts, but the sum of it’s parts lessens the whole of the team. It’s no great leap to praise a pile of shit as being more than a piece of it, but it’s still shit. As a whole sum or otherwise. A whole team prospers when love is given to all within it, especially the weakest links. You help others not because it benefits you, but because it benefits everyone, including you. A team will always accomplish more as a group than you can individually. So it stands to reason that one should care for the team. The problem starts when a member of the team looks to exploit others within it for self gain because now the whole team is being reduced by the sum of that part as they take away from others until if gone unchecked, you’re all reduced to a pile of shit. At that point it doesn’t matter how many of you there are. That only makes the stink worse.

@SW-User People will praise things on the merit of being a team. They think that just because there’s a team, it’s great. Look at all these people. Surely they can get stuff done. They don’t believe in helping any one part of the team because it’s a waste. When there’s enough people, you don’t have to care about individuals because there’s always someone else to do the job. Yes, it’s true that a lot of people are much more productive than any one person, so you can argue that the one person isn’t needed on the team, but when you don’t take care of that one person, it negatively affects that lot of people. I argue that the team stops mattering once you stop taking care of it’s parts because it destroys morale and makes everyone feel unappreciated which leads to a whole host of problems I refer to as shit. At that point it doesn’t matter if there’s more or less of a bad thing, it’s still a bad thing. Having more people to do something is indeed better than having less, but all the people in the world won’t matter if they’ve all gone bad because they weren’t cared for as individuals.
