How do you deal with someone who's constantly trying to get under your skin?

Working where I work, I see a lot of people. Including my ex girlfriend, who I'm convinced only comes into the store when I'm working and always stands in my queue to try and spark a reaction from me. She always buys one thing, and she's borderline making out with her boyfriend when they get to the counter

they have personality disorders if they do that consistently. I stay the hell away from them whenever I can. But in a work situation like yours you have to be courteous. Either that or plan on quitting and finding a job elswhere.

It really once bothered me. I mean really "You have to make a project out of trying to get to me?". Then I realized something, they are doing it because I am living rent free in their head. That's a hell of a lot of power they are allowing me. So I return the favor by ignoring them which drives them nuts.
