No. I think we're all slaves to an extent in a lot of different ways. Some people are very intelligent but want no part of the system.
I'm fine with that.
On the other hand it would be a bit hard to be a bum in a society driven by money but I could see why one would choose to. Life is short after all, have to enjoy it.
