Why must all bad things happen to me

If I could go back in time, I'd unsay every nasty word I've said.
Maybe then I wouldn't be so full of hate and regret.

Just let it go. Dwelling in the past results in depression. Dwelling in the future results in anxiety. Learn from the past; plan for the future--but, live in the moment.

Life is in the future. The past is dead and gone.

@Tatsumi I don't know how to let it go

@HalfBloodPrince It'll get easier over time. I think it is really that simple, though. Just abandon them. Just leave the past in the past and pull your focus to the present whenever it drifts to negative things in the past.

Or try and develop a plan for the future so you don't make the same mistakes. Or to accept the reality. That's what your brain wants from you, anyway. That's why it brings up the negatives of the past. It wants you to prevent those things that bring you pain or discomfort, in whatever way, from happening again, in the future.

The brain wants you to accept the past or make an effort to prevent those things that stress you out from happening again.

The uncomfortable feelings come from your brain saying, "Hey remember how tgis fucked us up? Yeah, you should probably find a way to not let that happen again." If you say something like, "Okay, I get it. This is what led to that situation. I will try to avoid that in the future; but, if I mess up, I'll just try again and not let it drag me down." It will help, if nothing else.

The brain is just bad at communicating what it wants you to do.

Saying something like that out loud will program the brain the way you want. Mnemonic programming. Speaking out loud to your brain.
All bad things don't happen to you, you just think that, so do I and most other people.
Going back in time is ridiculous and defeats the purpose of anything which involves many 'mistakes' and much chaos.
You are young and many many people are full of hate and regret but you still have time and learning to turn it round, things will not get better, they will get worse and you will learn to understand and cope with it better, that's is life.

Too late now, better to forgive yourself and practice kindness.
