I Have Lyme Disease

Been sick for a year and no doctor in the city where I live could diagnose me. After seeing 7 dr's and specialists I had to drive 5 hours to finally find a Dr who knew what I had and didn't call me crazy.

Sadly, what you’ve been through is so typical with chronic Lyme. There are very few LLMDs to begin with and mist conventional docs know less than nothing about Lyme and even less about coinfections. My daughter is 29 and was bitten at 7. She never got definiiuveky diagnosed until she was 18. She’s been treated and relapsed so many times. We finally went to an LLMD who also does non traditional treatments. She has lost a lot if vision, has permanent sleep issues, has neurological and orthopedic problems that inhibit her ability to work as an illustrator. BUT she has hope and that is her mainstay

I'm glad that it has been diagnosed and can now be treated.

I live in a Lyme Disease hot spot and pulled a fully engorged tick off my back last week. It had obviously been there for days. I'm watching for symptoms now but have a high probability of being infected.

@Hope70 Lyme Disease and other tic-borne diseases have spread all the way to the Rocky Mountains. Doctors are going to have to get used to the new normal. Let us know how you fare with the treatment.

@windinhishair they are all over the US. Doctors just don’t know this

@Sweet517 I don't doubt it. I'm in one of the hot spots, so doctors do look for it regularly, but I know that's not true in most of the country.

Have you recovered fully?

Geeze! Just a little doxycycline would have spared you all that misery ! 😖... residual effects?
Hope70 · F
@TexChik I'm on doxycycline and having side effects because the bacteria that it's killing in my body is leaving toxins. It's been making me sick.😞 No pain no gain.

@TexChik a little doxycycline only helps if it is begun immediately after the tick bite. Once you have a rash( if you are among the rare few who get one) and/ or start feeling sick... a little doxy won’t do diddly

@Hope70 asknyour LLMD for supplements to help with the herxing. The cure can be worse than the disease but the herxing is a sign that the keets are dying
P.S. cutting out sugar helps a lot. Keets thrive in sugar
