When assessing the quality of a person...

Is it better to assume the best about them or the worst? Do you subtract points (starting at 100) or do you reward points (starting from zero)?

I'm a cautious optimist. I start at 50 and either add or subtract.

I used to assume that everyone was good...and later I was many times shocked. Now, I watch how a person treats others especially whether they look down on anyone. That mostly decides whether I will interact with them or not. The quality of a person in general and the quality of a guy is based on how much he takes care of his kids if he has any etc. Zero care= lowest quality. Not for me
