Advice for starting in fiction writing

Hi, I'm new here and I wish to know if there is any advice for writing fiction?

start creating your characters and then make background stories for each of them even if you don't use it in your book then make a quick underline of the story's plot.

@SirenCalledLuce Kurt Vonnegut was always a hit or miss for me Players piano and slaughter house five are two of my favorite books and cats cradle was really good but dead eyed dick kind of ruined him for me.

He's how I found Robert Frost so everything is forgiven.

It applies to all writing but.. dont even attempt to start writing a story until you have a solid idea of a beginning middle and ending.
