I Am Going To Miss This Place

Yesterday I finished my last exam, and now I guess I'm done with college. In the moment, I never thought about all the things I'd miss, but already my housemates and I are beginning the move-out process and the weight of the changes to come is hitting me like a ton of bricks.

No more lectures, no more homework, no more studying, no more procrastinating. No more living in a house with my friends. No more walking around campus. No more all-you-can-eat dining hall food. No more playing with the cat. No more sitting on the roof and enjoying the sun. No more gathering around a fire in the backyard. No more big frisbee games at night on the empty soccer fields.

There's so much I'm going to miss that I always took for granted as just something to do to pass the time. There will be a lot of holes in my life to fill with new things, but I know that things will be different. I know that I will be different.

I'd like to ask a question, too:

What do you remember fondly even though you didn't think much of it at the time?

Congrats! :D I wouldn't say I remember it fondly, but I remember how different I was as a person when I was in high school. Looking back, I wish I had actually taken my parents' advice and made friends. I look at old pictures of myself in junior high and high school and all I can think is "What the hell was I thinking?" Of course back then I thought being totally alone with no friends and barely a scrap of interest in other human beings was the best thing in the world. I remember how I actually used to look down on other people who had the kind of social life I sometimes wish I could have. One thing about this time period that I do remember fondly was all of the free time I used to have. I still remember being able to come home after school during freshman year and play video games because I had so little homework I could do it all at school. Now I look at my dust-covered Xbox and think "What the hell am I supposed to do with this thing?" XD Now whenever I have free time I usually feel bad for not having anything productive to do.

@HornyDemon: Thanks, and great response :)

@Invisible: it's interesting that I wrote all of that because this isn't something I think about everyday, at least not in such a clear sense. But it's nice to just get things out on here.

Grade 9 in retrospect was the best school year I had. Top of junior high.
