I Am Going To Miss This Place
Yesterday I finished my last exam, and now I guess I'm done with college. In the moment, I never thought about all the things I'd miss, but already my housemates and I are beginning the move-out process and the weight of the changes to come is hitting me like a ton of bricks.
No more lectures, no more homework, no more studying, no more procrastinating. No more living in a house with my friends. No more walking around campus. No more all-you-can-eat dining hall food. No more playing with the cat. No more sitting on the roof and enjoying the sun. No more gathering around a fire in the backyard. No more big frisbee games at night on the empty soccer fields.
There's so much I'm going to miss that I always took for granted as just something to do to pass the time. There will be a lot of holes in my life to fill with new things, but I know that things will be different. I know that I will be different.
I'd like to ask a question, too:
What do you remember fondly even though you didn't think much of it at the time?
