Thinking...

Just for fun, I pulled out and read some journals I saved dating back to 1995. I wonder if I should journal again?
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I like to read my old journals. They bring back happy memories.

I quite like journalling and have been doing it for years. Off and on at times. I like that I can ramble into it without worrying about anyone judging my thoughts. Was yours a stream of consciousness journal, I wonder?

@sometimeslonelytoo That's for sure!

@SW-User There's that thing, about looking back at the days when "one knew everything"...! How naive we are when younger, and I guess we all have a lot of wising-up to do till the end of our days!

I just pulled out my old journal the other day, trying to decide if I want to do it here or hand write it.

@NewBeginnings7790 Hmmm... I kind of like picking out a nice new journal.
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@SW-User I really like my old one and I only got to use it a couple of times before I moved and it was packed away in storage.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
I've got a stack of old journals. A respectable pile of lives. I dip into them every once in a while.
SW-User
@Cavedweller It's interesting, isn't it? Even the mundane entries.
Cavedweller · 46-50, F
@SW-User Tis indeed.
Most definitely. It’s good for the soul.
SW-User
@Pinkstarburst It often helps me to work through things.

I stop and start. I need to start again.

I write in an At-A-Glance daytimer every day. It isn't really a journal, just what happened that day. I've been doing that for ten years.
SW-User
@hunkalove Please send me a link to your books!
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@SW-User Right now, today, I am getting my first novel, which I finished eight years ago, ready to put on Amazon and the other ebook sites before I start my fifth novel. I'll let you know. I know you don't read mysteries but I don't know many people who read at all.
SW-User
@hunkalove I would definitely read anything you've written my friend!
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
I've been keeping journals for a number of years now. It is interesting to note the changes over the years and the memories. The most valuable thing from them has been compiling medical histories.
In the past when I have journaled, it was because I was going through something painful at the time. It was good to get those feelings out but I don't feel it necessary to reread those journals and revisit that pain.
Serenitree · F
If it gives you pleasure or satisfies a need, then do it.
Serenitree · F
@SW-User That's the joy of writing for yourself. There's no pressure; no deadline; no one demanding to see the next chapter. It's yours to do when you have something you want to record, and to leave alone when you don't.

Oh look up bullet journals on Pinterest...that's what I would do if I ever make one.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti I have heard of those and they sound really interesting! Thanks.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User I collect bullet journal things...you can get really creative...use a graph-paper book and do little arty drawings, change your "fonts", make lists, etc.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti That's cool! I will have to give it a try!
